The co-working and managed office specialists Skootr have upped their cool quotient with a Via Designed workspaces at Infinity tower in DLF Cyber City, Gurgaon. Located an overbridge and an escalator ride away from its first office in Cyber greens (also a Via Design product!), the new Skootr facility immediately differentiates itself from its competition with its unique visual identity.
In our first meeting with the Skootr’s co-founders Anuj, Puneet & Ankit, their passion for design and differentiation of their product via extraordinary service really stood out. We set out to create a space did not submerge itself in a sea of generic co-working clones that are popping up all over the place these days. Part of the design challenge was that the 21,000 Sq.Ft space was to be retrofitted, keeping the basic structure of the facility as well as the M&E infra intact.
The only significant layout change that we opted to make was to open up the entrance space to the external glazing with its views daylight & the urbanscape of Cybercity: and what a remarkable difference this has made. The formerly introverted reception, bound on all sides by meeting spaces, is now an airy open social hub with co-working lounges and a cool coffee shop.
What I love about the project is the direction we took with the color palette: the entirely neutral color scheme of black, white and pastels is given a “kickstart” by electric pink highlights that energize the space. As the lead Architect on the project, I am glad that the client gave us the leeway to take risks that paid off in giving the project a unique identity amongst a host of “me too” co-working spaces.
